Despite coming thisclose to elimination in the second challenge of the season, “ Toying with Fashion,” she established herself as one of the season’s most accomplished technicians, especially when working with leather, which helped her win challenges in “ Like Totally ’90s” and “Double Bind.” She won when working with denim too in “ Uncut Hems,” demonstrating her versatility. While Basse got three low scores throughout the season, Cromartie only rocked the bottom once, in “ Double Bind.” He won three challenges (“ Below Decked Out,” “ Freedom” and “ The Sky’s the Limit“), tied with fellow finalist Basse, but he stumbled fewer times. In their after show interviews with Christian Siriano, both Prajje Oscar Jean Baptiste and Rami Kashou said Cromartie is the best contestant remaining, and Cromartie has had far and away the strongest track record of any designer this season. The winner will be determined once the judges see the designers’ final collections, but we asked fans of the show who they’re rooting for based on what they’ve already seen, and the result wasn’t even close. Last week’s avant garde challenge on “ Project Runway” narrowed the competition down to its final three: Brittany Allen, Laurence Basse, and Bishme Cromartie.
